What an amazing (and humbling) week! There's so much to tell, but I'll just go over the highlights! We had a leadership meeting last week by President Holmes and the assistants. INCREDIBLE. I learned SO much. We had a special focus on Jesus Christ. HE needs to be the One that we focus on in this work. As Temple Square missionaries, we send people home with a picture in their minds- they might leave here, remembering all about the pioneers and their sacrifices; or they might leave with a picture of Joseph Smith in their minds, or the Book of Mormon. That is not how it is supposed to be. We must send them home with a picture in their minds of JESUS CHRIST.
They must know that we know He lives. They must know we love Him and worship Him. In every contact and tour, we must testify of Him. Not only that, but give a personal testimony that we have come to know for ourselves that He is our Savior and Redeemer. We practiced and role-played, and then put it into action. I cannot tell you how much of a difference it makes!! The Spirit is so much stronger. Contacts and tours are much more focused. There are so many more miracles! I love it! My testimony of Jesus Christ is traveling all across the globe. I love my Savior and I know that He lives. The Atonement is real. Thank heavens for that!
We took around a lady named Guadalupe from Mexico! What a sweetheart! She was just in tears as we took her up to the Christus. She has such a strong love for the Savior. We talked about eternal families, and she said her family is struggling right now (who's family isn't? lol). We promised her that the gospel will bring her family closer than ever before. And she referred for missionaries! We'll be teaching her over the phone too!!! <3 I love being a missionary.
Guess what?? Sister Vennerholm and I have some new friends! Three of them..... President Monson, President Eyring, and President Uchtdorf!!!!!!!! We were in the church office building, walking back to the square, and they were going to the temple together. We didn't actually meet them, but they said hello to us and smiled as we walked by :)
President Uchtdorf was especially enthusiastic-- I think it's because Sister Vennerholm has her Swedish flag haha. Europeans have a special connection with each other lol. Anyway, we could literally feel the power from them as we walked by. It was amazing. The Spirit was so strong! We saw the Prophet of God. He is called by God and speaks as His mouthpiece! We wanted to yell it out to everyone on the Square! :) The message we have is an amazing one! We should yell it out.. to the whole world!
